Running With The Abominable Snow Dog

After it had gotten all warm and sunny and Spring-like earlier this week, the snow hit. There’s a phrase people say here, “If you don’t like the weather in Colorado, wait 5 minutes.” That just about sums it up!

As much as I love the idea of staying inside and hibernating on snow days, I have a very energetic border collie who drives us all nuts if he misses out on one of our weekly runs.

And I also have a pretty hardcore mom who was still up for getting our run in on Thursday morning, so we all layered up and braved the ice/sleet/snow/slush!

We only made it two miles instead of our normal three because we were wet and cold and our faces were getting pelted with ice. I’m still glad we went out, though!

Friday mornings are always special because Brianna is off of school. She always wakes me up with breakfast in bed (today’s breakfast consisted of whole wheat toast, a Clementine, and Frozen jelly beans) and then she hangs out with me while my sister takes Caden to school.

After watching Finding Dory, we find a lot of excuses to have “cuddle parties,” which are probably one of my favorite things in life right now! Bailey (my sister’s lab) and Boots like to join in, too.

I don’t want her to grow up. Can she stay my sweet, cuddly, 6-year-old niece forever, please?

Also, see all of the paper hearts on the door behind her? For Valentine’s Day, they covered my door in hearts and each one says something they love about me. Brianna wrote the majority of them and, not just one, but TWO of them say, “I love that you shake your booty.” I think she may have gotten me confused with Boots.

What are you up to today?

How’s the weather in your area?

Wishing you a weekend full of cuddle parties and booty shaking!
