21 Bible Verses About Being Enough

Do you feel hopeless, unworthy, sinful, full of self-sabotage or self-pity? These thoughts can be turned around with God’s word. Read these 21 Bible verses about being enough.

In ourselves, we fall way short of the mark. The mark of holiness, and righteousness. Scripture tells us that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God in Romans 3:23.

If we stop right there, we may be left feeling disparity and hopelessness. But that is not where it ends, because there is someone who has proved Himself to be pleasing to the Father.

There is one who walked this earth, faced the temptations we faced, but He was without sin. In Hebrews 4:14-16 Jesus is referred to as our Great High Priest.

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

When we look inwardly at ourselves, we will only find sin, disparity, and hopelessness. These thoughts often lead to feelings of worthlessness, self-indulgence, self-pity, and so many other unpleasant feelings.

When we look at self, this is what we find. But when we look to Christ, we find the spotless Lamb of God. We see the begotten Son of God who took the sin of the world upon Himself and satisfied the penalty of sin and death. We see God’s beloved Son with whom He is well pleased.

As Christians, we no longer have to look inside of ourselves, or to the world for external validation. We have found a new identity in Christ, when we look to Him, we can see ourselves more clearly.

In Christ, we now stand righteous before God, because Christ’s righteousness has been placed on us. In Christ, we are a new creation, and the old sin and shame that we carried have passed away.

The key is “in Christ,” not in ourselves, not in our own strength, not according to the world, but in Christ. That is where we grow into who God has made us to be, and we find our worth.

If you are struggling with feelings of not being enough, the truth is on our own, we aren’t. That is why we need Christ, because He is enough. Through Him, we become enough, and we too become a pleasing aroma to God.

Through Christ we each serve a purpose on this earth, and He has given us gifts that we can use to be a blessing to others, and to bring Him glory.

The Bible shares many scriptures of our new identity in Christ, that help us grow in who we are in Christ, and find our worth in who He is. Here are just a few to get you started!

Thankyou for todays blog (June 7) It helped me to get-going... Very well written. Your thoughts/along with scripture are connecting. Todays world is very crippled - it is 'self-centered' 'self-ish'

We don't need to remain alone/or isolated in this world. Just as God created Everything (In the Beginning) He knows everything! I'm so glad Christ Jesus came when He did. Amen
