1. Prayer for Direction
Lord,
Thank You for the mercy of a new day. As I prepare for the day ahead, I ask that You walk before me, and guide me. Help me to be sensitive to Your leading, and to be obedient to Your word.
I ask that You would direct my steps today, and lead me through the decisions that I have to make. Help me to acknowledge You throughout my day, and to be prayerful in all that I do.
Show me the way, and give me wisdom and understanding in situations where I need it most. In Jesus’ name, amen.
2. Prayer for God’s Peace
Father,
As I look forward to a new day, my prayer is that You would quiet any chaos or anxious thoughts that are in my mind.
Please help me to trust You with the situations in my life that are difficult, and find peace even in the storm. I ask that You would fill my heart with Your peace, and help me to keep my mind steadied on You throughout the day.
No matter what comes my way today, I ask that You will fill my heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, amen.
3. Pray for Thankfulness
Lord,
There are so many things that I can be thankful for today. I know sometimes it is easy to look at what is going wrong or what is missing in my life, but today, I ask that You would help me see all the things that You have blessed me with.
As I make my way through this day, I pray for a heart of gratitude. Please keep me from grumbling and complaining, and lead me to see Your goodness in the things and people around me.
May my heart grow in gratitude and may that gratitude turn into joy that I can share with others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
4. Pray to Be Filled with Confidence from Above
Father,
Sometimes I struggle to feel confident. I know that true confidence is not trusting in myself, and my own abilities but true confidence is trusting in Your power working through me.
As I get ready for the day, my prayer is that You would fill my heart and mind with the knowledge of who You are. You are the God of all creation, and there is nothing that is impossible for You.
Help me to approach life with trust and confidence in You. Help me to find my value in You and not the world or its standards. May my confidence be rooted in You, and You alone. In Jesus’ name, amen.

God,
Thank You for the gift of a new day. I know that each day is an opportunity to walk in faith, and to be good stewards of all that You have given us.
My prayer is that You would help me to prioritize well today. Please help me to cut away things that are distracting, and to attend to the things that are truly important and necessary for today.
I ask that You would give me the discipline to attend to the tasks and responsibilities that I need to do, and help me to make my time with You my top priority. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord,
I confess, sometimes it’s hard to find joy when life feels as though it has given you a bad hand. I know that You are sovereign over all things, which means that even the hard parts of life serve a purpose.
I know that I am not without hope, and that my hope is found in You. Please let this truth fill my heart with joy, and lead me to live a life that is not based on my circumstances but that is grounded in Your unfailing word and character.

7. Pray for God’s Protection
Father,
Your word says that You are a refuge for those who trust in You, and a strong tower that the righteous runs into and is safe. Thank You for being my hiding place, and for Your mercy toward me.
I ask that You keep Your watchful eye over me, and keep me out of harm’s way throughout the day ahead. Please protect me from any danger, and help me to be vigilant.
Please protect me not only physically as I go through the day, but protect my heart and mind. Help me to guard my heart, and to take every thought captive. In Jesus’ name, amen.
8. Prayer to Be Led By God’s Word
Lord,
Thank You for not leaving us wondering and without direction. Thank You for Your word that stands the test of time, and that guides us, and helps us to know You and know what You command of us.
As I live my life each day, my prayer is that You would help me not only to confess Christ with my lips, but to truly live my life according to Your word.
Please let Your word saturate my heart as I study it, and help me to live it out each and every day. Help me not only be a hearer of Your word but a doer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
9. Prayer to Love Like Jesus
God,
I know that there is no greater love than the love displayed on the cross by Christ. Thank You so much for the example of love, and that we get to experience that love each day.
I ask that You would help me to live in the reality of Your love every day. Help me not to keep that love to myself but to share it with those around me, especially those who don’t know Christ.
Help me to love not like the world does, but the way You have shown us to. May my love be patient, kind, honoring, selfless and persevering. In Jesus’ name, amen.
10. Prayer to Rely on God
Lord,
Thank You for a new day. Today I acknowledge that it is not through my own strength and ability that I have woken up or that I am breathing. Every breath I take is sustained by You.
Knowing this makes me aware of how much more I need to rely on You, because I can do nothing on my own, and in my own efforts.
Please help me to rely on You today. Help me to take time to ask You for guidance, or to seek Your wisdom during the day. Help me to rely on Your strength, especially in my weakness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Father,
Thank You for shining Your light into our hearts, and for saving us from the penalty of sin. I am so grateful for Your grace, and that I get to be a bearer of that light, and a testimony to Your goodness.
Help me to be bold, and not be ashamed of the gospel. Even when the world opposes, help me to stand firm in the truth, and not to give in to the pressure to conform to the patterns of the world.
Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to lead a life that is set apart for Your Kingdom and purposes. Help me to be a light in the dark world, and to point others to Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen.
12. Prayer for a Tough Day
Lord,
Today I feel especially weighed down with the burden of life. I know it’s easy to despair in times like today, but when I am tempted to despair I ask that You fill me with hope.
Please lift up my head, and help me to fix my eyes on You today. Remind me that no matter how tough the day may be, that You are with me, and that this too shall pass.
I ask that You would strengthen my heart and comfort me. Help me to praise You, and to look to You, because that is where my help comes from. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Father,
It’s hard to wait. It’s hard to be patient and not to take matters into your own hands, or to rely on your own wisdom and understanding.
Days of waiting, and needing patience can feel as though they are taking an eternity. But I know that each day has its own troubles, and that it is only through patient endurance that I will get through it.
Please help me to be patient today with those around me. Help me to be patient in the areas of my life where I am expectant but don’t see any fruit. Help me to trust in Your time and in Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.
