Christian Monthly Journal Prompts – January 2025

Use these 31 Christian monthly journal prompts to guide you in your prayer journaling this January, reflecting on God’s faithfulness and walking into the New Year with your eyes on Christ.

The start of a new year is a beautiful opportunity to reflect, reset, and renew our hearts in God’s presence.

Prayer journaling is one of my favorite tools for slowing down to be still before Him and process my thoughts with Christ at the center, redirecting my gaze back to Him as they drift (as they all too often do in the distractions and busyness of everyday life).

When I think back on my 2024, I had a year full of sweet memories and blessings, but, boy, was it also a year full of challenges – entering my 5th year of insomnia and health battles, entering some ministry leadership roles (with some major spiritual attacks along with it), air conditioners going out (twice. 😳), and some major financial and business hits.

As I step into January 2025, I’m reminded of the fresh mercies and unending grace that the Lord offers us each day. And I’m soaking it up as I lean into Him harder than ever before.

No matter where last year led you or what challenges lie ahead, this is a moment to realign your focus on His goodness and invite Him into every corner of your life.

To help you deepen your connection with God this month, I’ve created a series of thoughtful, faith-filled journal prompts.

These prompts are designed to inspire reflection, encourage heartfelt prayers, and motivate you to walk in the truth of His compassion and love. Whether you’re journaling for the first time or just starting this new habit in the New Year, this is a great way to make space for connection with God.

My prayer this January is that these prompts to guide us closer to His heart, so we can embrace all He has in store for us in the days ahead.

Here are 31 Christian journal prompts, perfect for a month-long journey toward new beginnings, renewal, and motivation.

You can use them as daily prompts or just glance over the list and choose a few prompts that resonate with you.
