Cheddar Herb Bread Recipe

Most of the time, I really like store bought bread. There are so many different varieties out there that I never get bored.

But sometimes, homemade bread just ups the ante from a normal meal to a special one. It would be the perfect addition to a brunch.

The fresh herbs in this quick bread totally bring it to another level, but I bet dried herbs would work just fine in a pinch.

This stuff is fantastic fresh from the oven, but my favorite way to eat it is toasted (the cheese in the bread gets perfectly melty) and topped with a piece of lettuce and Creamy Egg Salad.

But…plain ol’ butter is pretty delicious, too!

Did you use bread flour or all-purpose flour? Can’t wait to try this!
Hi, Kat! I used all purpose flour! I hope you like it!
Thanks for the great recipe! I made it in a baking crock, and just used fresh herbs that I had in the garden- so it was rosemary, thyme, parsley, and basil. I think next time I’ll add some chives. Thanks for sharing and I will definitely make again!

Ha! Yup. That would definitely be cups of cheese, not just 1 1/2 shredded cheese. 😉 Just fixed it! Thanks, friend!
Dear Becky-head,
This bread sounds amazing! I am going to try it very soon. 🙂
Love, Liesl
PS: in the ingredients list, is it 1 1/2 cups of cheese or what measurement? 🙂
