Prayer for Her Identity In Christ

Father,

As a woman, my daughter will come to face many different ideas from the world. I know that the world has its own set of values that it tries to inflict on us. So many girls have gone before her who struggle with comparison, who seek their worth in the wrong places, and who compromise who they are to be accepted by others. Remind her that she only has an audience of One. The media pushes toxic standards and expectations that will always leave us running dry.

My prayer is that my daughter would look to You to define her. I prayed that she would be set apart from the world. I pray that her roots will be firmly planted in You, Lord. When the winds of the world come, and they try to sway her, I pray that she will stand firm in Your truth. Please help her to reject the world’s definition of womanhood and to seek true biblical womanhood in Your word. May she grow to become an example for other women who are enslaved to the world’s standards. Let her find her worth in You, O Lord. And help her to believe that she is indeed who You say she is.

Prayer to Display The Fruit of the Spirit

Father In Heaven,

I bring my daughter before You today. I thank You for her life, and for who You created her to be. My desire is that she would continue to grow into a beautiful woman, who is not simply focused on outer appearance, but who has a beautiful heart. I pray Father, that You will create a new heart in her. I pray that her heart will delight in Your word and be shaped by Your Spirit. May her desires be for the Spirit and the things of the Spirit, rather than the world and the things of the world.

Please help her to be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. May she be connected to You, knowing that You are the source of life. Let her bear fruit, that is a testament to the work of Christ in her life. Let those fruits bring life to those around her, and be an outward expression of what is happening inside of her. May she walk in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. But above all, may she bring glory to Christ in all she does.

Prayer for Her Faith In God

Lord,

Thank You for the gift of faith. It is not something that we can conjure up by ourselves. Even faith is a gift from You. My prayer is that You would so generously grant my daughter that gift of faith. I pray that You would open the eyes of her heart to see You as You are, as Creator and Lord, and that she would submit every part of her life to You. If there is any doubt in her mind, I pray, Lord, that You would give her understanding and assurance.

Please help her to know that there is nothing more important in life than to be right with You. While there is opportunity, Lord, I pray that You would draw her near to You and give her a taste of Your goodness. I pray that Your Holy Spirit will give her understanding of Your word, and help her to follow You. In every season, whether highs or lows, may her faith in You increase and her trust continually grow.

Father God,

Every day we wake up with something that threatens to steal our joy. Whether it is the news, online, relationship conflict, or struggle that we face daily. It is so easy to allow our joy to be stolen by temporary situations. The joy that You give us is not like the happiness of the world. Your joy is not circumstantial. It is a joy we can find even in the toughest of times, as long as we are connected to You. That is the kind of joy that I pray my daughter will experience.

When her life feels as though it is falling apart, may she find the joy that You so freely offer her. May she seek Your face, and find the joy of the Lord as her strength. Let that joy sprout up in both the beautiful and broken parts of her life. May the joy she finds in You be a testimony to those around her. Help her to seek Your joy even in times when joy seems contrary. But more than that, teach her to share that joy with others who are in need of it.

Father,

When my daughter finds herself in times of fear or doubt, please fill her with courage. Help her to know that courage does not have to come from confidence in her own abilities, but that it is rooted in knowing that You are with her. When she faces a difficult path or the decision before her feels scary, remind her that You go before her. Your word says that You will never leave or forsake us. That is why we don’t have to be afraid.

Help her find her strength in You, knowing that You are a refuge for those who trust in You. May she see that her weaknesses are made perfect in Your strength. Help her not to rely on her own understanding, but to seek Your guidance and wisdom. May she know that there is courage in reaching out for assistance and allowing others to come alongside her. Lord,

When we are in trouble, we can turn to You to find refuge. You not only protect us from physical harm, but You have the power to keep us from spiritual attacks that we might not even be aware of. Today, I pray that You would enfold my daughter in Your loving arms. Please protect her from the dangers and plans of those with ill intentions. May she find in You a fortress and a shield.

Help her to be aware of the spiritual battle that we are in every day. I pray that she will resist the temptations of the world and the enemy that only leads to destruction. Remind her that You are a strong tower that she can always run to. May she find a shield in the shadow of Your wings. Please put a hedge of protection around her and guard the path before her. Please protect her heart from temptation, and her mind from deception.

Father,

Thank You for the peace that You bring. I can’t pray about peace without thanking Jesus for the peace He has enabled us to have with You, Father. That is the most important kind of peace that I pray my daughter would experience in her life. I pray that she will be at peace with You, Lord. May she come to truly understand and value the work that Christ has done on the cross. May she see how that work relates to her and fully accept the gift that You are offering her.

Only when our relationship with You is in the right, can we be at peace in our relationships with others. My prayer is that her relationship with You will extend into her relationships with those around her. Beyond her relationship, I pray for Your peace over her thoughts. I know that there are so many things that can cause us to feel anxious and fearful. Help her to find peace as she seeks Your presence.

You have loved us even while we were sinners. There is nothing that we did to deserve Your love. In fact, we acted as Your enemies when You chose to love us. This kind of love that is not dependent on us, is the kind of love that You call us to.

I pray that You will help my daughter to walk in the love that You have for her. May her experience of Your love overflow into the way she relates to others. Let her love not be conditional, but let it be a love that gives grace and shows mercy.
