31 October Christian Journal Prompts for Trusting God When You Feel Out of Control

| | |

31 October Christian journal prompts for trusting God when life feels uncertain and out of your control. Daily Bible verses and reflection questions to help you release worry, let go of overthinking, and anchor your heart in God’s guidance, provision, and peace.

If I’m honest, I don’t naturally drift toward trust.

I drift toward planning. Researching. Thinking things through from every possible angle. Running mental scenarios of what could happen, what might go wrong, what I should prepare for, what I need to figure out.

I like to know what’s coming, to feel prepared, to feel like I have some sense of control.

And there are strengths in that.

But there’s also a point where it goes too far.

  • Where planning turns into worry.
  • Where thinking turns into spiraling.
  • Where responsibility turns into carrying things that were never mine to carry.
  • Where I start trying to manage outcomes that haven’t even happened yet.

And it’s exhausting.

Because the truth is, no matter how much I think, plan, or prepare…I am not the one holding the future together.

God is.

And that is both humbling and incredibly relieving. Because it means I don’t have to figure everything out.

I don’t have to predict every outcome or carry every possible scenario on my shoulders.

I get to walk with Him, seek Him, trust Him, and be guided and cared for by Him.

To be led one step at a time instead of trying to map out the entire path ahead.

These journal prompts are an invitation to gently loosen your grip on control, notice where fear or overthinking has taken over, and lift those places up to the Lord.

To slowly, steadily shift your focus back to who He is.

Your Shepherd. Your Provider. Your Guide.

Your steady place when everything else feels uncertain.
