Are you feeling hopeless, lost, or in despair? Have you asked God to perform a miracle in your life? Here are 6 prayers for miracles.

Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that seem beyond our ability. Whether you’re in a position in life where all hope feels lost, you or a loved one are in need of healing, or you have been struggling in your job, with your relationships, or finances for what seems like forever. Those are the moments we often feel like we need a miracle from God to turn things around.

If you are in a place right now where you feel downtrodden, and desperate to see God’s hand in the situation that you’re experiencing, know that He is with you, and calls you to find comfort and trust in Him.

If there is any scripture that reminds us of the value of prayer, and dependence on our Heavenly Father, it is Philippians 4:6-7.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Sometimes it may feel as though God is not hearing us, or answering our prayers, especially in times when we are hoping to see a certain outcome. In those moments, my prayer is that He will strengthen you, and remind you of His character, and faithfulness even when things don’t turn out the way we would have hoped.

One thing we can remain steadfast in is that our hope in Christ in this world, and for eternity is unwavering and that no earthly loss, suffering, pain, or disappointment can compare to the hope and comfort that is found in our precious Savior, Jesus.

We’ve seen Jesus do many miracles in the New Testament that showed that He was who He claimed to be, God. In Matthew 14:15-21 He feeds the five thousand with only five loaves of bread and two fish. This is only one of many miracles that He performed.

All of this to say, we serve a mighty God who is able to do all things, according to His will. May these prayers help you to bring your plea of prayer to Him.

1. Prayer for Healing

If you’re going through a tough time with your health, it can be very discouraging, and disparaging. Our health is important because it affects every other part of our lives, and can lead us to feel hopeless when our health seems to be on a constant decline. In those times of pain, discomfort, or lack of mobility, you can ask God to bring healing, energy, and wisdom in how to deal with your health.

Gracious Lord,

I am grateful for a new day, and Your mercy that covers me day in and day out. Though I am not in the best condition, I know with absolute certainty that You are good and that I can entrust every part of my life in Your hands.

Lately, my help has been a problem, and it has caused me so much anxiety, discomfort, and pain, Lord. My prayer is that You would reach out Your hand and heal the parts of my body that have been affected by this pain.

Please help me not to despair, but to hold onto You for hope. I ask for Your guidance in managing my health issue, and if it is Your will, to heal me from it completely.

I know that nothing is impossible with You, please help me to trust You in the process, and to know that Your comforting arms are always surrounding me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

2. Prayer for Hope

Sometimes life can knock all the hope out of you. If you have felt hopeless, and are in need of new strength, God is able to provide you with hope, not only for this temporary time on earth but hope that lasts for eternity.

Heavenly Father,

It feels like I have lost all hope. The way I expected my life to turn out, is not close to the way it actually has panned out, and that has come with a lot of confusion, regret, disappointment and hopelessness.

It can be so easy to look at our own plans and have an expectation of how we would like life to look, but the truth is that no one has that amount of control. But one thing is certain, You alone are in control.

Please help me to remember this truth when I feel as though there is no hope. Please restore my hope, and strengthen my heart in a way that only You can do.

Help me to seek Your will for my life. Please help me to hold loosely to the idea that I have created for my life, and to hold tightly to the sovereign plan of Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen.

3. Prayer for a Situation That Seems Impossible

Have you ever felt like a situation is beyond any help? Like is it impossible for anything to be done about it? Though we may sometimes perceive certain circumstances this way, God’s word reminds us that nothing is impossible with Him. If it is in His will, He will accomplish it.

Father,

My prayer today is for something that feels so much larger than I can express. I don’t know what the outcome of this situation will be, and I have felt as though it is a lost cause many times.

I know that You are able to do beyond what our minds can perceive and that nothing is impossible for You. My prayer is that You would please revive my hope, and help me to remember that nothing is too great for You.

If it pleases You Lord, I ask that You would do a miraculous work in our midst. Please turn this situation around and bring something good from it. May its end ultimately bring glory to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

4. Prayer for Financial Breakthrough

As we grow up, one of the most essential things to living is finances. We need finances for our daily needs, to further our education, to pay off our bills, and to give to the causes and people around us. Just to name a few things. But many times, we may find ourselves short on money, or deep in debt. In those times we are often in critical need of a breakthrough.

Lord,

Thank You for who You are, and for Your care and love toward me. I know that Your word says not to be anxious about anything but to bring all things to You in prayer.

Today, I want to lay down my anxieties concerning my finances before You. I confess that I have been anxious and felt troubled about it. I feel as though I am sinking in this financial burden and I’m in desperate need for Your hand to pull me out of this pit.

You know the areas of my life where I am needing a financial breakthrough. Please would You make a way for me, Lord, like only You can do? Please give me guidance, and wisdom in this situation, and bless me with Your providence. In Jesus’ name, amen.

5. Prayer for Marriage Restoration

Marriage is a commitment that we make before God. It is both a beautiful and sanctifying union that is meant to make us more like Christ. At the same time, marriage at its core is two imperfect people coming together, which may often lead us to treat one another in ways that are destructive to the relationship. If you’re in a marriage that feels as though it is over, and you are in need of restoration, you can bring those pleas to God in prayer.

Heavenly Father,

I don’t know where to turn, or what to do. My marriage is on the rocks, and it feels as though we can’t get to a place of peace, healing and understanding for one another.

My prayer is that You would help us both to look to You, and not to the world, or our own feelings for guidance. Please help us both to repent for the things we have done and said to one another that were out of anger, frustration or bitterness.

Please do a miraculous, and transformative work in our hearts. I ask that You would bring restoration to our marriage, and help us both to seek Your face independently and together as one. In Jesus’ name, amen.

6. Prayer to Prevail Over Depression

When you’re struggling with depression, it can feel as though you are in a constant battle that is ongoing and relentless. Many of the symptoms of depression can cause you to fall into a dark hole, and leave you feeling hopeless, and discouraged. Even in our greatest moments of depression, we can ask God to fill our minds with His peace and to renew our hope.

Lord,

It feels as though I have been caught in darkness for ages. Through this lens, nothing feels as though it makes sense, and everything feels like a burden, too heavy for me to carry.

There are thoughts that run through my mind that discourage me, and that lead me to think differently from Your truth. Please remove those thoughts from my mind, and fill my mind with Your word.

I ask that You would bring healing to my mind, and lift the depression from me. Please help me to overcome this battle, and to be steadfast, knowing that Your mercies are new each morning. In Jesus’ name, amen.
