Honey Cinnamon Butter Recipe
Happy Christmas Eve!
I’ve been busy preparing Christmas Eve dinner and attempting family pictures this morning, which is quite difficult when you have a wiggly little girl who would much rather be getting piggy back rides than sitting still.
I’ve been baking up a storm recently, but haven’t taken many pictures of the creations. Food disappears a lot more quickly with my whole family around to help eat things and it’s hard to take pictures of food when my niece is around. My camera loves her. But it has been awhile since I posted a recipe, so I felt the urge to get another one on here before Christmas.
I actually made this for Thanksgiving this year, but I’d make it year-round! I was actually trying to recreate the Texas Roadhouse’s cinnamon butter, because their butter is insanely delicious slathered on their soft, pillowy rolls. It doesn’t taste exactly like theirs, but I love the balance of honey and cinnamon and it did taste delicious slathered on warm rolls!
Just a warning – if you store this butter in the fridge, it will harden up and be pretty difficult to spread. If you like that kind of thing, go for it! I prefer my butter soft and spreadable, so I just store it on my counter and it’s ready right when I need it.
So far I’ve only eaten it with rolls, but I bet it would be delicious on a cinnamon roll, spread on cinnamon raisin bread, or on toast in the morning (or in the afternoon…whenever you eat your toast!). This recipe is super quick and easy and adds a special flair to any meal. You can probably use an electric mixer if you don’t have a stand mixer…whatever mixes the ingredients and give the butter some fluff!
