Grilled Ranch Potatoes Recipe
These Grilled Ranch Potatoes make the perfect smokey summer side dish to pair with your steaks, burgers, chicken, or fish.
Grilling is by far my favorite cooking method these days, which is convenient since grilling is most definitely a summery thing to do. Just since being in Colorado with my family, we’ve grilled steaks, shrimp, asparagus, corn, zucchini, hamburgers, pizza, avocado, and potato packets.
I was thrilled when my sister taught me how to grill pizza this week (it was Jalapeno Popper Pizza, by the way), and the creamy texture of grilled avocado is out of this world (especially when you fill the halves with grilled corn & black bean pico de gallo).
Today’s recipe is a basic recipe for a grilled potato packet. First, get your grill preheating. Then thinly slice some potatoes.
Next, add some onions.
Then add some dry ranch seasoning to the mix.
Sprinkle in some pepper and pour in melted butter.
Toss it all together.
Then pour the mixture out onto a big sheet of greased aluminum foil.
And fold it all up into a packet, making sure that the edges are sealed well.
Then, put your packet on the grill and cook it over indirect heat for about 20 minutes per side. I have a gas grill, so I turn all of my burners on to preheat the grill, then I turn the middle burner off and set the potato packet there to cook.
That’s all there is to it! You can cook it longer if you want your potatoes crispier and this is a very easy recipe to adapt to whatever you have on-hand. Sometimes I add in chopped bacon or cloves of garlic. My sister leaves out the butter and uses mayo, which is also delicious. It’s hard to go wrong with grilled potatoes!
